He's facing a minimum of 10 years in the slammer and prosecutors are trying to confiscate more than $22 million in cash, homes and vehicles owned by him and his cronies. | CITY LIVING - 11.01.06 Total Trash Ghosts and Garbage Apparently this little venture called NYCGarbage has been around for a few years, but it's new to me. Justin Gignac is a dude who prowls around town in search of trash -- often discarded items with "unique" local flavor like expired MetroCards, losing lottery tickets, used coffee cups, crumpled up Chinese menus, broken beer bottles -- and then seals the refuse up in odor-free Lucite boxes for tourists and other suckers to take home with them. He sells the "sculptures" for $25 a pop, and it seems he's made a pretty penny doing it because his boxes of trash have been shipped to 41 states and at least 19 countries all around the world. Or maybe the pretty penny is just a dirty one he found on the steps of Penn Station and polished up. |
